Just call us Christians "frogs." Dropped into a hot pot, any frog instantly leaps out. But when immersed at a comfortable temperature, it can be boiled for supper by slowly turning up the heat so that he doesn't notice.

TV and movies keep getting ever "hotter" about God and His people, and we are oblivious as our culture becomes increasingly hostile.

Oh, a few spoke up about the "Book of Daniel" to bring that unholy TV series to a quick demise. But that was a couple of years ago, and the temperature has risen since then.

Hollywood long has mocked God, time and again showing for any and all to see that the church is powerless, useless, certainly no match for demonic evil. It's gotten to the point nothing now is sacred. Anything goes, as producers, directors and writers eagerly rush in where angels fear to tread. It's open season on the silver screen, with no bag limit.

Now we're the "crazy Christians" all across television's wasteland of programming, too. Take a moment to look over the edge of your steaming beaker and notice how many times a plot's villain is a Christian: Scripture-quoting serial killers, secret-hiding believers, hypocritical church members, etc.

Atheists of course love it as undecided Americans increasingly are led to believe Christians and their God not only aren't to be trusted, they're the problem with our culture today.

From bras to toilet paper, TV commercials unashamedly use angels to sell lproducts without fear of a religious backlash. Offend one athiest, and the ACLU makes sure there's hell to pay. But decision-makers for avertising companies now think like movie moguls -- who cares about what Christians think! Picture the boardroom where someone asks, "Won't this offend church-goers and backfire?" And the CEO answers, "Nah! Forget them! They don't act on what they say they believe."

Slap, after slap, after slap results. I wish it was God's people righteously turning the other cheek. But we really are oblivious to how badly God is being mocked, and how we and our Lord are being smeared. If we notice at all, we're content to mutter something to our spouse, then live and let live. After all, God can handle it; He doesn't need our help, right?

It's almost as if the entire entertainment industry has decided America would be better off without us. Few leaders respect, let alone fear, Almighty God. Certainly no Biblical taboo remains off limits. You might say they're too engrosed satisfying the perverted desires of their twisted hearts to worry about what cheek-turning Christians think. Not sated in their wicked lust, "entertainers" eagerly ridicule God and attack His people. Seeing neither retaliatory thunderbolts nor pillars of salt, they get ever bolder.

This doesn't catch God napping, of course. The Lord knew long ago this would happen as mankind approaches the final curtain. He even inspired Romans 1:24 to point this out for us way in advance.

Does that absolve us "frogs" from leaping up and saying what's right and wrong? No, and God's people had better find their voice before saying how God feels about morality -- or the lack of it -- is legislated into a "hate crime."

So us "frogs" keep silent. We're too busy not making waves to take time to be holy and set ourselves apart from today's God-mocking entertainment.

Be attractively different by displaying God's unbeatable power? Serve as salt and light to those headed for hell? Let our light shine in the darkness of our R- and X-rated culture?

It's much easier to go along to get along, to live and let live, isn't it? But to do so means we sit in the seat of the mockers.

That's wrong, according to the Good Book! Get it right!

The "Amnesty Bill," now being crammed down America's throat, brought an old publications industry saying to mind: There's never time to do it right, but always time to do it over.

The United States already has laws dealing with illegal aliens, but we're being told new legislation is needed. Congress already has an approved and funded border fence, but wer'e being told new legislation is needed.

Most being said about this issue is subtrafuge designed to obscure that fact that Congress and the Administration don't want to respect the overwhelming will of the people. Special intrests have once again been chosen over we the people -- and that's wrong. Get it right!

Check the polls. It's not even close: Americans want our borders secure! The vast majority demand the illegal flow be stopped by enforcing existing laws and building the security fence. That should have happened years ago, but certainly it must be achieved now! And the success of this crucial objective is in no way tied to the amnesty issue. Yet we're told we need new legislation in order to build the fence AFTER illegal aliens are -- poof! -- transformed into righteous citizens with a swoop of the liberal wand sure to generate millions of votes to empower their penchant to further polute our culture.

Amnesty is like a yacht. Hey, we'd all like to have one, but if you have to ask the price it's not for you. What is the price of amnesty? So far, no propagandist has dared mumble a bottom-line guesstimate. And none will, because the cost will be cataclysmic. I saw in Texas during the '90s what the unchecked invasion of illegal aliens means to Lone Star taxpayers. The impact to hospital ERs and public schools is horrendous and getting worse by the day. Granting amnesty will be sure to pound pocketbooks in every corner of our nation.

Rank-and-file Democrats would be up in arms should the truth get out and they get wind of the gigantic tax hike amnesty will create. That's why this skullduggery is being pushed so hard so fast, for a second time at that.

You wouldn't buy a car without asking the price, right? Why then should we trust Congress not to fleece us like never before? Tell your Congressmen it's no deal without at least a reasonably believeable sticker price!

Amnesty is wrong for so many reasons there isn't space here to consider it all! Congress has to stop this bum's rush, level with the people and explain it before we'll buy it.

Just as wrong is using amnesty to avoid building the approved and funded fence. So is ignoring existing laws. Come on, America, let's get it right!
